Brad shares some great ideas on education, national issues, and what it takes to acquire and retain businesses that help the local economy.

How can we keep this from happening again? And what is life going to look like when this all blows over? Obviously, there are no definitive answers, but it’s always worthwhile to discuss these topics, take some time to be retrospective and commit ourselves to going forward a little smarter for the experience. Lee Drutman, a senior fellow in the Political Reform program at New America, drops by to talk about the increasing bipolar nature of politics in America, and what we can do about it. Lee is the author of the newly published book “Breaking the Two-Party Doom Loop: The Case for Multiparty Democracy in America.” And, back in 2015, he published the book “The Business of America is Lobbying.” He is also the winner of the 2016 American Political Science Association's Robert A. Dahl Award, given for "Scholarship of the highest quality on the subject of democracy." Lee also co-hosts a podcast called Politics in Question, and writes for the New York Times, Vox, FiveThirtyEight and several other media outlets. He is considered an expert on lobbying, influence, and money in politics. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. from Brown University.
